Stephanie Schmid is the decisive winner in New Jersey’s Fourth Congressional District Democratic Primary earning overwhelming support from Democratic voters across Monmouth, Ocean, and Mercer Counties.
“It is an honor and privilege to be the Democratic nominee in New Jersey’s Fourth Congressional District. I am overwhelmed by the strength of our victory, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our hundreds of grassroots volunteers and supporters across this District. Thank you to our voters, my team, and my family and friends. Together we are going to bring much needed change and new leadership to Central Jersey for the first time in forty years,” Stephanie said.
“I would also like to thank and congratulate my primary opponents on a hard fought campaign full of new ideas and passionate advocacy on behalf of our democracy. My heart goes out to David Applefield’s family, friends, and supporters and they are in my prayers as our community mourns David’s tragic passing yesterday. Christine Conforti built a grassroots campaign that excited many members of our community and inspired new voices to engage in our democratic process throughout this primary.”
“As we move forward to the general election I hope we can unite in order to elect a new, passionate Congresswoman to represent our District. I will work tirelessly to earn the vote and the support of every voter across this District and every member of our community who believes it is time for change. I will continue to fight every day on behalf of our families, our small businesses, and our frontline workers by advocating for policies that ensure healthcare is a human right, our environment is protected, our tax burden is reduced, our economy is strengthened, and our reproductive rights are guaranteed.”
Stephanie’s background as a retired U.S. Foreign Service Officer and human rights advocate and attorney has prepared her to serve our community on day one. “I am running for Congress because I feel called to serve our country once again. After 40 years of absentee, out of touch leadership from Rep. Chris Smith, our District is ready for new representation. I hope that when people hear my story of public service and my commitment to fighting for our families, they are inspired to vote for change. Together, we will finally flip this seat. Please join our fight at stephaniefornewjersey.com.”
